The Staff Attorney provides ethics advice and issues advisory opinions to covered parties under the Miami-Dade County Conflict of Interest and Code of Ethics Ordinance, under the supervision of the Executive Director and the General Counsel. Responsibilities include drafting advisory opinions and legal memoranda and providing formal and informal ethics guidance. The position also supports the agency’s public trust enforcement and compliance efforts as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with The Florida Bar. Candidates must have either (a) two (2) years of legal experience combined with service as a federal or state trial or appellate judicial law clerk, or (b) five (5) years of legal experience. Judicial clerkship or substantial litigation experience is strongly preferred.
