If so, the Department of the Auditor General (DAG) is looking for a motivated self-starting individual like you to join our team of fiscal watchdogs. The DAG is looking to fill three Auditor 1 position within the bureaus of Fire Relief Audits. The Auditor 1 position involves auditing government agencies and programs as well as organizations, businesses, and other entities that receive state funds. The auditor determines that compliance with applicable law, regulations, guidelines, rules, and auditing standards are being met.

Work duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching, learning, and applying laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards.
  • Locating, evaluating, and analyzing records and other information.
  • Creating, inputting, accessing, and retrieving data, including but not limited to audit work papers, audit findings, and audit/administrative reports.

Job LocationTelework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • CPA, CFE, CGAP, CGFM, CIA, and/or CISA.


Job Requirements:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection to telework.

Minimum Education:

  • Degree from accredited college or university with at least 12 credits in accounting/auditing; or
  • An equivalent combination of education with at least 12 credits in accounting/auditing, experience, and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Drivers' License required.
  • Travel as needed within Pennsylvania and stay overnight as needed.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
    • Learn and apply policies and procedures, and adapt to changes.
    • Work independently.
    • Complete and submit all work within set guidelines.
    • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Maintain effective working relationships.
    • Telework and maintain a high speed Internet connection.
    • Operate standard office equipment, including Microsoft Office.
    • Regularly move audit papers, supplies, and equipment to/from audit sites, offices, and headquarters.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
